Dance Classes for all ages and abilities

Children’s Dance Classes

Our children’s classes are designed to captivate and channel natural energy whilst developing coordination and balance, and building physical articulation.  Children are encouraged to experiment with free movement and self-expression in an engaging, interactive environment.  We offer specialized programs for toddlers, young children, and teens, in various styles including Ballet, Modern Stage/Jazz, Tap, and Gymnastic Dance.  Each class is tailored to the developmental stage and interests of the students.

Performance Opportunities

 

Experience the excitement of the stage and grow as a performer through teamwork and comradery, discipline and artistry - showcasing your dance achievements with copious razzle-dazzle and a touch of extra sparkle!

Examinations

 

Examinations can be taken via the National Association of Teachers of Dancing's Ofqual- validated curriculum.  Students are entered in accordance with individual ability.  Moving upwards through a graded syllabus nurtures pride and a sense of accomplishment with each stepping stone providing a pathway to the next level.

Adult Dance Classes

 

t’s never too late to learn! Our adult classes are perfect for beginners or those returning to dance. Enjoy a welcoming community while learning new skills, improving flexibility, and staying active.  Choose from Tap or fitness-focused Dance & Exercise.

 

 

Our Dance Programs

At Chapel Dance Studio, we offer a variety of dance classes for children as young as 2 ½ years, teens, and adults. Our programs are designed to foster every student's unique skill set and encourage them to grow and flourish through personal fulfilment and achievement.. Whether your child is taking their first dance steps or you are an adult looking to explore a new passion, CDS provides quality training in a range of styles.  Discover the joy of dance with programs tailored to support and nurture every age and ability at any level.

It is important to remember that mastery of any dance style takes dedication and practice - a confident dancer is a happy dancer!

Tiny Tots Dance

Perfect for children ages 2 ½ to 4, these classes introduce your child to the joy of music and the language of movement in a friendly, fun environment. Young children who are participating in lots of structured and unstructured physical activity like Ballet or Gym- Tots classes, in addition to free play, will develop key skills much quicker than others. Designed for beginners, our Tiny Tots program helps develop coordination, rhythm, and self-confidence.

KS 1 (Junior Students) and KS2 (Senior Students)

Best suited for children and teens ages 5 to 18 who are ready to expand their skills and explore a variety of dance styles. Ideal for dancers at all levels, from beginners to advanced students, these classes offer comprehensive training, examinations, and performance opportunities.

£6/£6.50 per class

About Chapel Dance Studio

Chapel Dance Studio offers quality dance tuition for all children from age 2 ½ - 18.  Our continuing goal is to maintain a supportive and energetic environment where students of all ages can explore various styles including Ballet, Tap, Modern Stage/Jazz, and Gymnastic Dance.  We focus on nurturing self-confidence and self-esteem, physical dexterity and technique, all within an encouraging, friendly  environment to ensure every student thrives whether they are dancing for recreation, performance, or personal growth.  We aim to inspire dancers of all ages, including adults, to have a belief in their own abilities — from toddlers just finding their feet to teens exploring and developing self expression, or adults perfecting their passion, there’s scope for everyone to shine!

At CDS we provide local performance opportunities together with structured training and tuition based on the NATD syllabus of graded examinations and medal test awards which, with regular attendance, can eventually lead to professional standards and qualifications.  The National Association of Teachers of Dancing, is a global association which has been at the forefront of dance education for over a century.

Dancewear

All dancewear can be purchased at competitive prices via the Studio - please request a uniform order form for your convenience. 
 
 Costumes are required for some examination medals and awards - these are loaned to students on the day.  Showcase costumes are the property of the student and incur an additional cost.
 
Adult Classes 
Adults require any suitable loose or stretch clothing with black tap shoes for Tap, or jazz shoes/non-slip dance socks for Dance & Exercise

Ethos and Heritage

Chapel Dance Studio is a pre-vocational dance academy based in Greenhithe, Dartford, for students of all ages and abilities.  CDS gives children the opportunity to enjoy music and dance with their friends in a welcoming, professional, fully equipped dance studio environment, and provides fun and fitness classes for adults. CDS focusses on traditional teaching techniques in the various disciplines, led by Miss Mandy, a Fellow member of the National Association of Teachers of Dancing.  Mandy has extensive experience working within the dance industry and has assisted in the production of shows at the Broadway Theatre in South East London and the Orchard Theatre Dartford, as well as producing dance showcase performances at local schools, the Miskin Theatre venue at North Kent College, and Medway Theatres.  NATD examiners, presidents, and leading industry professionals are among her colleagues, peers and paragons.

The studio is located at the historic ‘Old Stone Chapel’ of Stone and Greenhithe, originally a place of worship which later became the venue for crucial municipal fire-fighting services during the second world war, and later an art studio.  Today, this wonderful iconic building is equipped with mirrors, barres, 'Le Mark' Performance Flooring, and a parent-friendly viewing area/waiting room, providing first class dance facilities within the local community.
